A little about myself:
The name’s Rae June (she/her) and I’m an illustrator/author/game dev that’s obsessed with the macabre aswell as everything sweet and lovely. 𝜗𝜚˚⋆
In my work, I explore themes such as femininity, primal instinct, carnal desire and societal constraints—always through a distinctly female perspective, also known as the “female gaze”. I strive to depict uncomfortable topics through a rose-tinted lens that, at first glance, feels harmless but reveals a sinister depth upon closer inspection. I strive to reclaim elements often dismissed as overly kitschy or childish, intentionally amplifying their kitschiness to an exaggerated, unapologetic extreme. My work aims to challenge, unsettle, and invite reflection on these apparent contradictions.
